I am a wife, mom, grandma and retired registered nurse. I was born and grew up in Chicago and surrounding suburbs. I am of Scandinavian ancestry, love family history and am always working on my family tree. I married a German....well a naturalized American, born in Germany, who immigrated with his family at the age of four. He no longer can speak or understand German. He never knew any of his grandparents or had any connections with family remaining in Germany. His parents, siblings and 1 maternal uncle who immigrated with them were the only blood relatives he was aware of. He did not have a clue about his heritage. He only knew the name of the town in which he was born....Groß-Bieberau.For my children and grandchildren (and of course my own insatiable curiosity) the search was on. Who are the Feicks?
